The town of Vis is located on the north coast of Vis Island, along the beautiful bay of Saint George. It is the only place on the island having a daily ferry and catamaran connection with Split, which is 30 nautical miles away. During the summer season, Vis is connected with the towns on the Italian coast. All the necessary facilities are within a walking distance. A public pebble beach is about 100 m away from the center of the town, while on the other side of the bay there are also some smaller and easily accessible beaches.
