Ciovo Island has a total surface of 23.8 square kilometers, which comprises several unique places, including Zedno, Arbanija, Slatine, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji and Ciovo. By road, the island of Ciovo is located about 30 kilometers away from Split and 2 kilometers away from Trogir.
The island of Ciovo is a rocky island, which make it a great place to explore several pits, such as Anas pit and Bilosaj Cave. On other parts of the Ciovo Island are fields used for growing almonds. The Bay of Sladun, which is located on the west coast of Ciovo, is home to gravel and sandy beaches. Meanwhile, the islands of Galerija, Kraljevac and Saint Eufemia, which are located on the Southeast coast of the island, are famous for underwater fishing.
The Island of Ciovo has several historic catholic churches and monuments scattered around the island, including the church of Saint Peter, the medieval Saint Mary church, the Dominican monastery of the Saint Cross and other small churches. Through its history, the locals have developed a high level of spirituality, which is still evident today. Aside from being just a quick ride from Trogir, Ciovo Island offers a recreational and relaxing destination with friendly climatic conditions, hidden picturesque beaches, and unspoiled small islands.
