The island of Brac is the largest island, and the third largest in the Adriatic. The highest peak on the island of Brac is Mount St. Vid (778 m), which is the island of Brac Island of the highest among all Croatian islands. The island of Brac is characteristic by karst relief, bays and valleys, but the majority of coastal villages and higher parts of the island of Brac are covered with Aleppo pine forests.
People living on the island of Brac in various small towns, ranging from 3500 inhabitants (the capital city of Supetar) to a ten ([Novo Selo]). The island of Brac thrives mainly because of tourism, agriculture and fishing, but they remain a constant source of income. Brac is famous for its cheese, olive oil and wine, as well as its unique white stone, which is used in building the White House in the U.S. and Diocletian's Palace in Split.
Brac Island today is the combination of its Roman, Renaissance and Baroque churches and other architectural buildings, and tourist facilities, including hotels, luxury villas, houses, apartments and camps.
