Umag is located in a bay that is very attractive in terms of tourism. In the bay, there is one of our top quality ACI marinas with a blue flag. It is only one of eleven blue fags that Umag, as a tourist destination, can be proud of. Umag is the first tourist and nautical entrance/exit of Croatia to/from Europe. The European roads are only some 10 kilometers away. Umag was built on the foundation of ancient Roman archaeological remains, and has preserved the feature of narrow streets and medieval urban structure. The Romans have proclaimed it their own resort, and have connected it to the mainland. There are hotels, apartments, bungalows, campsites, marina with all the required facilities, swimming pools, beaches, casino, sports courts, programs for elderly, hunters and fishermen, as well as for nature lovers. Along the entire riviera of Savudrija-Umag-Lovrečica there are eight beaches of Istraturist, all of which are flying their blue flags, a proof of European swimming requirements.
