One of the most beautiful villages on the Adriatic coast is Selce - a seaside resort with more than 100-year-old tourism tradition. The first bathing spot was opened back in 1894, so that year is considered the beginning of tourism. Selce is a little town with a well preserved Mediterranean coastal atmosphere, and a diverse offerings for tourists: accommodations and nice, mostly pebble beaches, which have been given the European Blue Flag several years ago. Other offerings include a boat pier, picturesque seaside promenade (Lungomare), sports and recreational facilities for outdoor recreation (tennis, miniature golf) and diving center with a diving school. Thanks to its climate, Selce is also a well known rehabilitation center for treating cardiovascular, rheumatic and respiratory diseases, and includes a physical therapy and rehabilitation center (Therme Selce).
